The only thing I'm not sure of is which was the catalyst in being able to play multi region blu-rays was it the VLC player or the specific blu-ray drive I had? I don't think I'm the first to use a computer setup to a tv to play multi region blu-rays, so I was wondering if anyone else is out there that has done this! Also I'm sorry for saying Blu-ray a lot. I'm entertaining one of two ideas: Make a really cheap, small computer tower with a blu-ray player in it and use VLC to watch all the things or buy a super expensive region free blu-ray player. I did notice that the blu-ray drive on my previous computer (that no longer is operational) was able to play region locked DVDs and Blu rays with VLC player. My current blu-ray player has 3 changes before lock.
I'm aware that blu-ray players will change region, but there is a specific amount of times you can change it before it will lock to that region. We doesnt provide free region blu ray player products or service, please contact them directly and verify their companies info carefully. I'm a big collector and watcher of blu-rays/4k films but recently it's become harder and harder to get some of the films I want to watch because they are region locked with no current plans of releasing in my country (Australia).
